Acupuncture
Acupuncture focuses on healing, energy and balance, and is an ancient Chinese healing art that can be traced back for at least 2,500 years. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi) through the body that are essential for health. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for disease.
Acupuncture may correct imbalances of flow at identifiable points close to the skin. Acupuncture employs the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to manipulate the flow of energy and restore the body's balance. An essentially painless technique, Acupuncture is widely used to treat illness, and to maintain good health.
Research has shown that acupuncture relieves pain and reduces nausea and vomiting following surgery. It is an approved treatment for chemotherapy-induced nausea by the National Institute of Health.
